This summer an adventure will be taking place, all in aid of Rainbows Children's Hospice...

Epic charity bike ride from England to Portugal. Starting from England on 7th July 2014

About Rainbows – the East Midlands’ hospice for children and young people.

Since 1994 we’ve opened our doors and hearts to those children and the people who love them most. As the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where life-limited children and their families can find care and support. Our incredible team of people helps relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end.

About Cycling For Charity

The idea took seed a long time ago - 1984 in fact - in California. During a six month sejour in the Golden State my Dad rashly suggested that we would return one day (I was only 9 at the time) and cycle the state from north to south. We never did.

I don’t hold that against him, life moves on, things happen, we did other things. But his suggestion sowed a seed. I’ve loved embarking on big cycling adventures ever since: Land’s End to John O’Groats, France north to south, the RAID Pyrenean. Cycling to the southern most tip of the Iberian Peninsula has long been an itch I’ve wanted to scratch. And now that the kids are old enough I intend to do just that.

How to get involved

The first way to support us is by donating as much or as little as you can to our Just Giving page. This cycle is all in aid of Rainbows as we think its a fantastic charity!

As well as making a donation there are lots of great ways for you to get involved. We are seeking volenteers to help us raise money for this wonderful and deserving charity by organising fundraising events, selling raffle tickets or just simply by helping us to get the word out –  whether that be through social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter or just telling people you know about us and encouraging them to visit this website.
